Air cooler of synthesis gas

Air coolers of the synthesis gas E-506 were realised as an element of the installation of the gas cooling system in the ammonia synthesis llop in Zakłady Azotowe „Puławy” S.A..
Calculations and licensing-production documentation were prepared according to the parameters and design basis delivered by the Client.
The exchanger part of the cooler is made of two headers of manifold type. Between the headers there are four rows of tubes highly finned with aluminium, connected between them by arches, and connected with manifolds by specially bent fittings and reductions. The external size of the tube part of the cooler are the following: width 9750 mm, total length 8600 mm, height of the tube part 615 mm. Materials used: P355NH, P275NL1, P355QH, P285NH.
Support construction of the cooler is made of galvanised HEA profiles. Each dispatch element of the cooler is designed and manufactured in size suitable for transportation requirements and for installation on construction site. Class of the welded construction – 2. Height of the whole construction: 5350 mm. Materials used: S235JR.
Cooling process in the cooler is intensified by fixing four fans for constant operation in the open space in a ventilating system with electric motors of anti-explosive type, along with their equipment and frequency converters. Rotos diameter is ø3048 mm. Fans efficiency: 4 × 171000 m3/h. Rotor power: 9,5 kW. Revolutions: 304,0 rev/min. Range of regulation: 0-100%.
